The new Joker has been cast. I think we can all agree that this was the actor that Batman fans were clamoring for. The new Joker is Heath Ledger. What?!? The gay cowboy is now the Joker? The actor who in interviews sounds like he would shun any big budget movie? A guy who seems to be too good for popcorn flicks? Yes, that guy.
I am not sure if this will work or not, but I will give it a chance. I am sure that there has already been a huge backlash by fanboys throughout the internet. I am just a little shocked. I guess I have always thought of the Joker as an older man, not a guy in his twenties. Or at least he was older than Batman. The name of the next Batman movie will be The Dark Knight and it will be released in the summer of 2008. It seems that all the actors in Batman Begins will be returning for the new edition. Heath Ledger or no, I will be there.

Unfortunately, that means that Katie Holmes and that ever present coy looking smile will be there too.
Her entire acting career is always going to be centered around her trying to not look and act like a 15 year old girl from Dawson's Creek.
As good looking as she is and even as little as she was in Batman Begins, she hurt that movie a lot. But it was good enough to still be awesome.
I am not sure about Katie, I thought I had heard not soon after Batman Begins came out, that she was not going to return.
I'm not sure Tom Cruise would let her out of the house long enough to film a movie. If she is gone for more than 48 hours, the spell is broken.
