The Storm has finally blown out of our lives and RockStar:SuperNova.

We have finally gotten rid of Broadway Rose. Stormy is gone and we are down to the final four. I have to admit, I wasn’t as happy to see Storm go as I thought I would be. I chalk this up to being so filled with joy that Ryan “The Suck Horse” was booted off last week that I had nothing left to give. I am glad she is gone and I think that even though it seemed to have taken 3 and a half years, we finally have gotten rid of all the trash and are left with the cream of the crop.

Dilana’s version of I Want You to Want Me was a little weird, especially since she can’t really move. Remember when I said a few weeks back that Dilana was a megalomaniac? Have you noticed since her little “episode,” all her songs focus on her and what she is going through? I am beginning to think she has mental problems, man. Yeah, mental problems, man. With that being said, she is still the best singer out of the group. She has the most distinct voice that is listenable. She has no shot at this thing, but I hope she is able to do something with her career.

Lukas is loved by the band for some crazy reason. I don’t see how they can love a stumble bum dwarf who sings horribly. He has the look and has a unique stage presence, but I can’t imagine things lasting if they choose this guy.

Toby seems to be the one to beat right now. He has had the encore two weeks in a row, if my figures are correct and he got to sing with SuperNova. In fact, I thought his performance with the band was the best of all the “rockers.” He has become the new Magni, nothing super spectacular, but he is solid.

Speaking of Magni, how could a guy that was bottom three for what seems like 6 weeks in a row, somehow become the number one guy in the hearts of the voting public. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Geek thinks it is because all of Iceland is voting for him, but are there that many people in Iceland? I can’t understand his new found popularity, but I do not think it will carry him to a win. He is good, but Toby is hotter right now and I think that will keep Magni from the win.

Next week I am not sure what to expect. I don’t know if there will be voting from the fans or if the band will make the decision all on their own. I do hope that Zayra comes back and sings a crazy song. I miss her kooky performances. I expect to see Toby picked as the winner and then SuperNova, The House Band, and The Panic Channel will be rocking to a town near you. I am not sure I would go see them since I seem to go to a concert once every 3 or 4 years, but you better get it while you can.

su•per•no•va n. pl. su•per•no•vae or su•per•no•vas
A rare celestial phenomenon involving the explosion of most of the material in a star, resulting in an extremely bright, short-lived object that emits vast amounts of energy.

I would put extra emphasis on short lived.

I see Toby winning this. He is the only guy on the show that vaults off in to the crowd, and goes deep. But he has done this for 2 or 3 weeks now, and it's getting a bit old. The SuperNova dudes love him though. And I have to admit his original song is catchy.

I L-O-V-E Magni. He has the boy-next-door charm and looks. He is a family man, he has a solid performance. But the band tends to find him a bit stagnant at times. I do not think he has the edge he had before over the others...but I am still rooting for him.

Lukas just does not fit with htis band. He is more of a "Prince' or 'Pat Benitar' performer. I won't say he doesn't have skills...but I don't see him with SuperNova. I don't get why the band is so hyped on him.

Dilana is still my favorite. I may have a girl-crush on her. But I'm not sure. She has the performance down, the skills to back her up. I only think she speaks before she thinks, and that may hurt her. Mental problems? Maybe. The ability to front the band if they gave her a fair shot...in my opinion yes.

And dude! Why was Jason crying with Storm's performance of 'Wish You Were Here'?

A lot of people don't know this, but Jason Newsted's first dog, a labradore, was named Pink Floyd. Jason's godfather was Syd Barrett, so he always felt a closeness to PF and their music. Wish You Were Here became especially poignant for Newsted when Barrett died, since the song was written for his departed godfather.

Of course I'm making all of this up. I have no idea what his problem was.

Speaking of people that don't fit this band, why is Tommy Lee their drummer? Gilby is very savvy, and Newsted is as well. TLee is the flunked out fraternity boy that still crashes at the frat house at 40 years old.

I forgot to comment on that. Besides the fact that Wish You Were Here is an emotional song to begin with, I have seen some reasons for his tears on USA Today's Pop Blog.

One was that before Storm sang the song, she dedicated it to her mother who passed away last year. She also said that her mother had battled schizophrenia and had been in and out of mental hospitals most her life. That may have choked Newsted up. We didn't see this because CBS edited it out. For what reason I do not know.

Another reason I heard about was that the band knew that they were sending Storm home and they all liked her a lot, just not enough to have her front their band. Combine that with her dedication to her mother, and that explains the tears.

The other reason I heard was that the band that Newsted plays in now, Voivod, lost their guitar player last year to cancer and that song was played at his funeral.

These are all pretty good reasons for getting choked up, I guess. I did find it very shocking to see Newsted cry. Dave also looked a little emotional as well.

I was just thinking about that today. T-Lee is the odd man out in this trio. I can't see Newsted lasting very long with T-Lee.

Newsted and Gilby seem like consummate muscians and Gilby is a family man as well. This does not go along with T-Lee's lifestyle, or so it seems. I think T-Lee will have the bigger say in the choosing of the lead singer because he will need a running buddy on the road and that is Toby or Lukas. Magni is a good guy and a famliy man as well and T-Lee will need excitment on tour. Not sitting around talking about the kids and writing new songs.

They already look as if they are not very comfortable with each other. This is another reason why I do not expect this group to stay together and record more than one album.

Thanks for the color commentary and the cold facts about Jason being all weepy. 'Wish You Were Here' is my favorite PF song.

I just didn't expect to see Jason cry. I don't think anyone had.
