Running Through My Head

For those runners out, isn't it amazing the thoughts that pop up when you are out there on the asphalt. A friend and professor from my undergraduate at Western Kentucky University, was a triathalon runner. She had won a few bigger races to qualify for the Iron Man in Hawii. Once she mentioned that she and some of her co-ultra distance runners had relived childhood memories when they were far into a run. They apparently report that these things they hadn't thought about in fifteen years or more would just resurface. Most of them could not identify a memory cue; however, just because we don't recognize any, doesn't necessarily mean that they are not there.
